Histopathology

Histopathology is an area of pathology that deals with the tissue-related, microscopic aspect of pathological changes in the body. After an organ is surgically removed or when a small piece of tissue or cell samples are taken, the tissue is analyzed by pathologists. Histopathology is mainly required if a tumor is involved, with the question of whether it is benign or malignant. The process includes checking the type, size, enlargement and malignancy of a tumor. These results therefore provide the clinician with numerous important prognosis factors that are vital to ensuring the right treatment for the patient.
