Erythrocyte sedimentation

The erythrocyte sedimentation reaction is an unspecific screening procedure, when an inflammable reaction is suspected and for assessing its course. During an inflammatory event, the plasma concentration of acute-phase proteins, fibrinogen and immunoglobulins increases, resulting in an accelerated erythrocyte sedimentation reaction.

Erythrocyte sedimentation analyzer – intuitive operation

The semi-automated erythrocyte sedimentation analyzer from DIESSE is efficient and environmentally-friendly. The unit is extremely easy, quick and intuitive to operate: Load the tubes – Start the analyzer – done.

Features and benefits

  • No reagents required – no waste.
  • Direct use of primary EDTA tubes – no contact with blood or in the instrument either.
  • No sample materials required, therefore the EDTA-tube can be used unchanged for further analyses after erythrocyte sedimentation.
  • Compatible with all the commonly used EDTA tubes in the market.
  • Photometric infrared reading prevents interference caused by lipids or bilirubin in the sample.
  • Excellent correlation with the Westergren method (follows the ICSH guidelines).
  • 30 tube positions in the device.
