She has been part of Axonlab’s story for 30 years. Isabelle Lüssi
CRM Manager

What was your motivation to choose Axonlab 30 years ago?

My job interview took place in the evening at 6:30 p.m. – the company was already dark and no one was on site. Both managing directors were still at home having dinner and arrived a few minutes late. It was precisely this relaxed, human situation that immediately gave me a good feeling. That is why I took the opportunity I was offered with great joy and conviction.

My enthusiasm for Axonlab has grown over the years – together with the company’s development and growth. Even after 30 years, I am still motivated and happy to contribute my part.

How have you developed over this time and what changes have you experienced?

This question is hardly possible to answer briefly. From a team of around ten employees, the company has grown into an international organization with more than 450 employees and eleven additional locations. In the early years, my daily work included not only administrative tasks but also logistics, in a very familiar and manageable environment. I was able to actively support and help shape the continuous growth, which also meant that my role developed steadily over time. Today, my job consists of three areas: CRM Manager, Assistant to International Management, and operational Key Account Management.

The change of CEO just over three years ago brought significant changes to my daily work. I embraced this new situation and continue to do my work with great joy and commitment. At the same time, I am grateful for every personal exchange with the company’s founder.

What do you appreciate most about working at Axonlab?

My tasks at Axonlab are very diverse, and I get to learn something new every day. I especially appreciate the collaboration with my many teams as well as the close contact with our customers.

Is there a project or experience that has particularly stayed in your memory?

The implementation of the new ERP system (Go-live 2020) was a defining project. Over several months, it demanded a lot from the employees and sometimes pushed us to our limits. The intensive collaboration allowed me to get to know and appreciate certain colleagues from a completely new perspective. This project also taught me, even after almost 25 years of being “company-blind,” how important it is to think “out of the box.”

What is your favorite product at Axonlab and why?

Axonlab distributes thousands of different products internationally. The Micros / Microsemi CRP, however, has accompanied me since my very first day and remains one of our most successful products in the field of hematology.

What advice would you give to someone who has just started at Axonlab?

Actively approach people – across departments and countries. Exchanging ideas with colleagues opens up new perspectives and helps you get to know the company in all its diversity. Be open to learning something new every day and continuously expanding your horizon. Take responsibility for your tasks, get involved and share your ideas openly with us – because commitment and new impulses are always welcome. #wecare

What special talent do you have that most people don’t know about you?

I really enjoy cooking and constantly trying out new things. I would say I’m quite good at it – and I prefer doing it just for myself – pure “me time.”

Which three things would you take with you to a deserted island?

THE BOOK, food & drinks.

The Book is an inspiring, richly illustrated knowledge book that serves as an encyclopedia of human history. It provides adults with a comprehensive overview of historical developments, inventions, technologies and survival strategies of civilization. As a unique educational and collector’s item, it conveys the key ideas of humankind and is seen as a symbolic blueprint for rebuilding the world.

You can give a colleague at Axonlab a “you-are-a-great-colleague” award. Who would you give this award to and why?

Over the past 30 years, I have met many wonderful and valuable people, some of whom have become true friends. With many I share laughter, and with some also quiet or difficult moments. For me, there is not just one special colleague – there are many, because each individual leaves impressions and traces, shapes me and motivates me to keep going every day.

Axonlab is no longer just a workplace for me – Axonlab is part of my life.
