An interview with Andrea Stampfli, product manager for iLine (microINR)/haemostasis project development manager at Axonlab

How long have you been working for Axonlab?
“One year.”

What are your responsibilities/duties at Axonlab? What do you do at Axonlab, in other words?

“I work in the core team as the product manager for iLine and as the haemostasis product development manager.”

What do you like best about your job at Axonlab?

“The freedom and trust they give you to achieve a goal independently. At the same time, it’s also nice to know that there’s always someone there to give you the support you need to reach that goal.”

Describe your professional background.

“After completing a vocational college programme, I started my lab career working as a biomedical analyst in the Department of Haematology and Haemostaseology at the KSA Hospital’s Institute for Laboratory Medicine. Then I switched to a new hospital – the Bürgerspital soH Solothurn, where I worked for a total of 17 years – and took on the role of technical supervisor for the Haematology/Haemostasis Unit. At the same time, I also completed my Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences. With my academic laboratory background, my responsibilities for the Departments of Haematology, Haemostasis and Immunohaematology have spanned multiple sites (incl. Olten and Dornach) over the past 8 years. Those responsibilities included all of the evaluation and implementation work surrounding instrumentation and methods in those departments. My job also involved providing medical validation of the results from every unit. On the side, I taught haematology for several years as part of the biomedical analytics programme at the XUND Vocational School in Lucerne.”

“Working with a sensational multidisciplinary team to prepare the way for the successful launch of the Thrombomate XRA.”

What do you do in private to balance your work for Axonlab?

“I play a lot of different sports, from skiing to triathlon. Plus, I spend a lot of time in the garden and enjoy cooking multicourse meals for my family and friends.”
