Common, unpleasant, but easily treatable
STDs* are widespread. It is not known exactly how many infections there actually are, because not all sexually transmitted diseases are reportable. The WHO estimates that there are 376 million new infections worldwide each year. Almost all STDs are easily treatable, but due to the diversity of the pathogens, diagnostics play a major role in this area.
