The i-STAT BNP analysis is an in vitro diagnostic test for the quantification of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in whole blood or plasma samples with EDTA as an anticoagulant. BNP measurements can be used as an aid in the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of chronic heart failure. The test can only be used with the i-STAT1 system.
